For Polyester I wrote about how being a foodie has become the new ‘it’ aesthetic. As long as you’re thin, that is. polyesterzine.com/features/where…

A nice milestone was passed at Novara Media in the last few weeks. We now have more than 2 million followers across all social channels. Very cool! A big shout to Bronte Dow Jonah Sealey Braverman & Chloe Laws for doing great work across more than one of them! Two million! 🤝

This is so harrowing. Male violence in the UK feels more relentless than ever; every day details from the most disturbing cases emerge and we’re expected to just go along with our lives as normal. This rhetoric is used a lot but male violence really is an epidemic.

The Met has a systemic male violence problem. Mark Tyrrell was part of the parliamentary and diplomatic protection command!! 21 offences!! He met the victim on duty!!

Thinking of Rebecca Cheptegei’s loved ones. Thinking of all the women who are the victims of femicide. Angry and sick at the media who report on these murders like they are unexplainable deaths. Who don’t name it misogyny. Who don’t name it murder.

I cannot stop thinking about Rebecca Cheptegei and Gisèle Pélicot. Both their stories have shaken me this week, like I’m sure they have you. I wrote about this feeling of horror and fear for Stylist Magazine, and my disappointment at so much silence. stylist.co.uk/opinion/rebecc…

This. We are in an epidemic about which nothing is being done. Whether it’s the UK, Uganda, France or anywhere else in the world- from ‘America the Free’ to the warped theocracies of Afghanistan & Iran - the lives of women and girls are secondary

To the ‘not all men’ brigade: 73 men went to Gisele Pelicot’s house and raped her. 1000s saw the ads and stood by. 3 men left but never called the police. These men were strangers, loved ones, neighbours. Why are you not outraged? How can you centre yourself?

To all the brosocialists, who claim to be allies and feminists, how about you check in on the women in your life or speak up about ongoing VAWG? How about you care about women’s safety not just splitting the bill and what you can gain from aligning yourself with feminism?

Powerful piece by Chloe Laws. The tragic stories of Rebecca Cheptegei and Gisèle Pélicot highlight the terrifying reality of violence against women. We can’t continue to ignore this crisis - it’s time for urgent action.

“We are expected to get on with our lives as normal, pretending that all these brutal murders aren’t femicide and don’t affect us. We are not allowed to express that emotion publicly, and when we do we are told that we are overreacting or that we hate men.” This 🎯

We are simultaneously feeling immensely unsafe, gaslit on a mass level, sad, angry and isolated. Everyday misogyny fuels and feeds a patriarchal system where VAWG is normalised – the cases that make the headlines are only the tip of the iceberg. womenshealthmag.com/uk/health/ment…
