Excellent piece by Arash Abizadeh explaining the reasons behind PAPA’s entire editorial board resignation (JPP did the same a few months ago) and the exploitation on which (commercial) academic publishing is based. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Biden's 2021 expanded child tax credit resulted in lowest child poverty rate in recorded US history 1963-2022. Average child poverty rate in recent years in ~30 rich democracies is ~11%. US almost accomplished typical child poverty rate in 2021. LIS

Women are underrepresented in top economic journals. i) and this despite the fact that articles written by women are between 1% and 6% better written ii) articles written by women take longer to be reviewed Erin Hengel #WISPPRH academic.oup.com/ej/article/132…

Families affected by the benefit cap cannot escape its impact by moving property. In fact, in some places, moving to the cheapest accommodation in their area would leave them with ~£4 per person per day. When talking about the 2 child limit, we cannot forget the benefit cap.

📢 Mina Baginova and I edited a special edition of the journal Gender & Research. The aim of the edition was to examine anti-gender movements from the demand side perspective. We ended up having three brilliant contributions. genderonline.cz/en/magno/gav/2…

Here is my assessment of the ILO 2023 report on 'The value of essential work': onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/de… The report centres the problem of devaluation of essential work and provides a wealth of useful data. Yet, it fails to recognise the contested nature of the essential work 1/2
