Happy #WorldRangerDay! Rangers are the backbone of wildlife conservation. These heroes work tirelessly on the frontlines to ensure wild plants & animals remain in nature & support coexistence between humans and wildlife. Facing harsh working conditions and ever present threats-

I had the opportunity to meet with #rangers whose facilities were upgraded as part of the CITES-MIKE Programme, generously supported by the #EuropeanUnion. The project's main achievements include construction of houses for officers & the refurbishment of the rangers' barracks.

The project enabled the acquisition of four vehicles to support law enforcement patrols and intelligence operations, equipment for the control room and support for patrols. The project has also enabled the electrification of headquarters in Maktau.
