A reminder that costs to consumers and carbon emissions would both be reduced if we used energy infrastructure more efficiently than we do currently:

Dear Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, Not sure how much you paid the consultants last time, but my vision for Oxford St - knocked up over a brew - contains design elements proven to enhance life in cities, such as trams, stone paving, green infrastructure, and seating. You can have it for free.

We installed solar on our roof two years ago. It pays for itself and the installation took 1.5 days. The potential for rooftop solar in the UK is still vast: 95% of UK homes still don't have solar missing out on cheap and clean electricity.

Some argue that Britain shouldn't adopt locational marginal pricing for electricity because it'd chill investment. It doesn't seem to be doing that in Texas.

Clem Cowton (@clemcowton) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Texas also doesn’t have the CfD. And yet the same renewables developers who are happy investing in projects in Texas claim they couldn’t invest in the UK if we reformed the electricity market, even with our generous CfD investment support mechanism. They’re playing us for fools.

Wouldn't it be funny if I got loads more nominations for Hydrogen UK's Thought Leader of the Year than any of the mindless hydrogen promoters and grifters! hydrogen-uk.org/events/annual-…

Clem Cowton Thomas Edwards Should the ambition not be to have lots more energy use in the UK? Part of the reason for the attractiveness of greater locational signals is that it would, in my view, lead to cheaper energy. Right now our energy is too expensive vs other markets. And that is a big problem.

Sorry one more thing. Look what the need for double-yellow lines does to a pretty street. Traffic almost zero here, but psychologically, you're stepping from the safety of the pavement into a road with no footway. Compare with the German example (4th pic). So much more inviting!

Wouldn’t it be good if we had low energy prices in the areas with low house prices, so we could attract industries and jobs to those places so people would want to live there?

Abuse doesn't always stop when a relationship ends. Sadly so often Post separation abuse is minimised, disbelieved or misunderstood, yet it remains the most dangerous time for a victim/survivor. Let's raise awareness for: Post Separation Abuse Awareness Week! #PSAAW
