This week I am European Space Agency ESTEC for an #Apophis #Asteroid workshop. The flyby of Apophis in 5 years is a once in 1000 years event and unique science opportunity. It's time for the space agencies to rally around this unique event for #science and #PlanetaryDefense

In cleaning my office, I ran across some old papers that reminded me of a conversation I had with Eldridge Moores, when I was on sabbatical decades ago. Eldridge was a student of Harry Hess, one of the people instrumental in establishing the theory of plate tectonics.
