Last night saw heavy migration across the Midwest. Team BirdCast estimates >13M birds crossed Adams Co., Nebraska alone, with 78M across the whole state!! How did your county do? Stats for any county in the Lower 48: birdcast.info/migration-tool… Should be good birding!

The floodgates are opening. The next 3 nights will see the biggest migration movement of the season so far in Chicago. Millions of birds will fly through Cook County, including warblers, who are frequent collision victims. Call us at 773-988-1867 if you find a bird in need.

The river of migrants keeps coming! Tonight Team BirdCast estimates >400 MILLION birds in the air over the U.S., with the next two nights heavy as well. Great time to turn off nonessential lights and evaluate windows for collision hazards. bit.ly/LightsOutForBi… #LightsOutTexas

Love the migration dashboards from Team BirdCast. Super helpful to know when to expect high/low migrant numbers! And the expected migrants from eBird data is spot on. Except for magnolia and chestnut-sided warbler, Here are the birds dominating our sites at #springfieldbirds

And they keep on coming! Over the last 3 nights, 19.6 million birds passed through Cook County (per Team BirdCast), and they will be taking no breaks through the end of the week. Call us at 773-988-1867 to report injured birds. You can contain them in a paper bag until we arrive.

More than 72k birds are predicted by Team BirdCast and CSU Aeroeco Lab to migrate through NYC tonight, & 47k tomorrow night! Ask your building manager to turn nonessential building #lightsout now and throughout migration season to help prevent bird collisions with City buildings!

One reason fall migration is so breathtaking is you've got hordes of juvenile birds, added to millions of adult birds on their way south. 913M birds crossed Georgia last fall!—with AL, TX, MO, IA close behind. More about Team BirdCast migration estimates: allaboutbirds.org/news/new-birdc…

We are reaching peak bird migration in many parts of the United States. Remember to dim your lights for birds at night so that they can safely travel without becoming disoriented. 🧵
