The people advocating for involuntarily treatment are people who don't know how proper treatment works. They've failed at the most basic sense of compassion. They believe that the only way to get through to vulnerable people is through force, when it is known to worsen things.

Forced institutionalization of disabilities is bad & will be abused. The “let’s force treatment on people” crowd should look up waitlists for the current free services (if any) & supportive housing options. Most people didn’t become “severe” because help was ample & easy to get.

BC NDP has lost the plot. Forced treatment and incarceration without crime and due process is counter to human rights. I wish them the law suit they deserve.
