And the new Passenger terminal at the airport of Puerto Williams is almost ready. There are still some works in pavements and the car & van parking zone, but it will be ready for the 2024/25 cruiseship season.

The world's most beautiful flight is between Punta Arenas and Puerto Williams. Just have a look after you overflow the Darwin Cordillera, and the Beagle channel appears. Snowy mountains and calm waters.

And the first ship to dock at the new port facilities in Puerto Williams was "ATF-60 Lientur" of the Armada de Chile. This Antarctic AHTSV (Anchor Handling-Tug Supply Vessel) will improve security and safety in all the subantarctic and antarctic waterways.

Puerto Williams 🇨🇱🇦🇶 is currently undergoing big transformations. The Centro Internacional Cabo de Hornos (CHIC) opened two years ago, and now the first ship docked at the new port facilities. A new passenger terminal at the airport is on its trail run. And a new 150-bedroom Hotel is approved. Big changes!

And a new flight experience is coming to Puerto Williams. In a few weeks the new De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Dash 8 Q400 will be flying the air route to Punta Arenas, then to Antarctica... and in the future new exciting destinations in the subantarctic region.

And a wonderful video of a wild Guanaco (Lama guanicoe) at Mount "Carrancho" south of Puerto Williams. These wild animals were introduced by the Yahgans in Navarino island. They have now become nearly extinct, because of stray dogs and different diseases. A great video:

And the new Dash 8 will do its maiden flight to Puerto Williams on September 6th (if everything goes smoothly). Yesterday the airplane flew between Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales as its first test flight ine the Magallanes region.

Puerto Williams has a housing shortage. But for first time in its short history there a two housing projects simultaneously. The first one with 23 houses, and the second project just laid the first stone, for another 45 houses. Good news!

And it happened. DAP Antarctic Airlines new Dash 8 Q400 made her first flight to Puerto Williams. A new era is coming ahead, with more services, a better infrastructure and new opportunities.

A 🇨🇦- built aircraft now on the most southerly regular passenger route in the world (smaller sisters of the Dash 8 - the Dash 7 and the Twin Otter - are also used widely on the continent of Antarctica itself, by scientific teams).

DAP Antarctic Airways new Dash 8 Q400 transports 76 passengers with jet-like speeds and almost without noise (Q stands for quiet). This airplane will provide new opportunities to operate in shorter runways, so that new destinations might be from now on an option.

Although the new "Lakutaia Hotel" project was approved by the Chilean Environmental Service, thre is still some concerns of the impact ta a 150-bedroom Hotel might have. Visually the impact will be low, and almost no wood will be affected. All impact has been assessed.

And yesterday the funds for the second phase of the new port infrastructure were approved. This will allow to dock ships up to 240m long. A very important improvement for Puerto Williams and its tourism. Phase 3 will be the new land building for passengers.

All of Puerto Williams' drinking water comes from this water reservoir. A snow storm hit the island yesterday, so workers from the water company went to check that everything was working properly.
