Brown-eyed rock rose • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ The flowers of brown-eyed rock rose are both bold and delicate. You may recognise the flower - with its paper-white petals and crimson spots - from some of our previous summer scents.

Diffusion stone • Summer 24 ⁠ ⁠ For Summer 24, we have created a new seasonal design inspired by sun emblems in folk art. ⁠ ⁠ Our beautiful terracotta diffusion stones are made with Suffolk clay by traditional tile makers at Norfolk Pamments.

Colours of Summer • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ Here in the Ffern studio, we’re immersed in the kaleidoscope of summer’s vibrant colours, watching as they transform throughout the day.⁠ This vivid summer palette invigorates the spirit - a feeling to hold onto before the season turns again.

As The Season Turns • August⁠ ⁠ August is a harvest month. The rich variety of wild fruits you can find this season - such as blackberry, elderberry, crabapple, hazelnut and rowan - makes it one of the year’s most pleasurable foraging months.

High summer • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ High summer - quiet afternoons where the world is a lush tapestry of green, the air sweet with fresh fruit. The sun plays hide and seek through the trees, sometimes refreshing us with a sudden summer rain shower. ⁠

Blood orange • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ Our blood orange rind comes from the Sicily, where the tree is native. The island’s unique microclimate, with its fertile volcanic soil and temperate coastal breezes, creates the perfect conditions for these distinctive fruits to grow.

Bay leaf • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ A prized ingredient in perfumery and cuisine, the bay leaf also carries rich symbolic meaning. In an old English tradition, holding a bay leaf in your mouth all day was believed to ward off bad luck.

August harvest • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ Harvest season is upon us - this month brings an abundance of tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, blueberries, sweetcorn, fragrant herbs, plums and succulent peaches, all ready to be picked at their peak. ⁠

Nutmeg • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ The word "nutmeg" comes from the Old French phrase "nois muguede," meaning "musky nut." Our nutmeg is musky indeed, but it is also earthy, woody and spicy.

August roses • Summer 24⁠ ⁠ It’s late August in the rose garden, which means it’s time to apply your last feed to encourage the final flush of blooms. On warmer days, provide some shade for potted roses to prevent heat stress, and keep a watchful eye for pests. ⁠

Quince • Autumn 24⁠ Quince is late autumn’s brightest fruit - golden, sweet and delicate, and the fragrant heart of our upcoming release, Autumn 24. We can’t wait to share our bespoke quince accord with you in the coming weeks ✨️

Quince accord • Autumn 24⁠ ⁠ This season’s fragrance takes a beautiful orchard fruit as its inspiration: the quince. The fruit itself has no essential oil, so to capture its many facets, we created a natural quince accord - a bespoke blend of floral, earthy and honeyed notes.

Saffron • Autumn 24⁠ ⁠ Saffron is so precious and rare that it's sometimes referred to as 'red gold'. As the world’s most expensive spice, it is indeed a luxury. Its reddish-orange threads must be harvested by hand at mid-morning, when the flower is fully open to the sun.⁠

Oakwood • Autumn 24⁠ ⁠ A new addition to our portfolio of ingredients at Ffern, oakwood felt like a natural choice for Autumn 24. It's a brilliant anchor for a fragrance, extending its longevity and bringing depth. It also blends nicely with the woody, spicy and floral notes.

Aniseed • Autumn 24⁠ ⁠ In Autumn 24, aniseed is a top note - a strong opener to the fragrance. However, as it settles on your skin, you’ll find that it melts seamlessly into the sweetness and warmth of our quince accord.

Quince • Autumn 24⁠ ⁠ ⁠⁠⁠ Autumn 24 is one of our richest scents to date - blending sweetness with spice, darkness with light, it gestures to the natural processes happening all around us in this special season.
