I always cherish the opportunities to thank the Kentuckians taking care of our families. These health care heroes are making a difference in the lives of so many, and I'm proud to support them.

Kentucky is leading the nation in adult mental health services and has the most recovery treatment beds per capita in the country. We're truly living out our faith and values – embracing second chances isn't just the right thing to do; it's what we are called to do.

Nearly 10 years ago, Linda Squire lost her son Johnny to an accidental overdose. Now Linda is using her family's story to advocate for and support others. We will continue the fight against the disease of addiction until no family ever has to go through this pain again.

The news out of Georgia is devastating, as another senseless act of violence has taken more lives and will leave others with lifelong trauma. My heart breaks for those students, and we pray for all those affected. We must do better. ^AB
