I want to get out in front of something I misremembered talking to Rob Lowe today on his podcast "Literally". I threw in a comment about Air Force General Curtis LeMay leaving the bathroom door open with JFK in the next room. The actual story is that he did this with the Joint

Ok...update: so the Curtis LeMay bathroom story is mentioned in a few books. Dino Brugioni's "Eyeball to Eyeball" for example. Again: that story has LeMay leaving the bathroom door ajar with the Joint Chiefs in the next room...NOT JFK (or any president). Sorry for the

I try amigo. Our podcast is obviously easier for me to do that with than an off the cuff interview on another person's. If this were HH it would have been removed before you ever had a chance to hear it.

This was a ton of fun. Took part in a series Variety does testing one's knowledge about their own work. I didn't do TOO badly😂 youtube.com/watch?v=Rln6-b…

I enjoyed this.I don't know if my Curtis LeMay misstatement is in this or not,but as I said on here right after we finished recording,LeMay did NOT leave the bathroom door open in front of JFK. (Was it the Joint Chiefs? I can't remember how the story went-but it's right on brand)

Years ago my dermatologist started to tell me to wear hats "all the time" while outdoors. I said "how am I going to remember to do that?" He said "just do it all the time...make it a lifestyle choice". Well, after my recent bout with (non-dangerous) skin cancer he prescribed a

I have worked on this for months, and now I am finally able to share the fruits of my labor. I poured a bit on my soul in this series (it'll be two episodes), so I really hope you like it. historyonfirepodcast.com/episodes/2024/…

New HHA is out: Description: "This show could also have been called “Violent Reflections” as Dan repurposes old work he did on the revolutionary era of the late 1960s. This is NOT a deep HH-style look at the period, but is instead a brief gaze at a potential “Past is Prologue”

FYI: Our show notes are very abbreviated in the new HHA since the research was actually done way back in 2013. But most of the statistics cited come from Richard Nixon's presidential memoirs (and are all taken from official U.S. govt sources...for what THAT'S worth).

Can we share this as much as possible so that this undoubtedly emotionally valuable letter reaches its owner? It was written by Lt. Prebble to the wife of Pte. S. Webb in 1918 and recently left behind on Tyne Cot Cemetery. vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2024…

A lot of action in this picture. (#OTD in 1944. Beaufighters from 144 and 254 Squadron, 455 Squadron RAAF and 489 Squadron RNZAF attacking German "M" class minesweepers escorting a convoy off the Dutch coast, north-west of Borkum, with rocket projectiles. #WW2 #HISTORY)

College football is back. So I am back on The Solid Verbal College Football Podcast podcast. Had a great time with the guys (as usual), and was able to offer fewer (if any!) insights than normal
