We are delighted to welcome Bridget Phillipson as the new Secretary of State. Her letter to the profession is a breath of fresh air and fills us with much hope for the future. We look forward to working with her.

Just extraordinary. It's truly mind melting to think that someone with these values and opinions is now in charge of prisons. I've not seen anything like it in my lifetime.

Here’s wishing all of you a successful and fulfilling return next week. We hope you feel rested and recharged for the exciting challenges ahead. If you need to talk, you know where we are. And be sure to please share what we do with any new colleagues. Headrestuk.co.uk

In my opinion, of the 2 OFSTED related publications today this is by far the most significant and important. And I am sure that the so-called Big Listen has been timed to grab the media attention away from it. BBC News (UK) Sky News Channel 4 News

Busy day again of edu announcements what with the Ofsted Big Listen and Dame Christine Gilbert’s greatly anticipated report. (It’s damming btw, so Ofsted only agree with the ‘spirit’ of the 11 recommendations.) We’ll be putting a statement out on Headrest at some point.

The Big Listen has dominated the headlines but we think the Gilbert Review has even more to offer. Our thoughts on the independent learning review and why it must not go unnoticed. #edutwitter #headteacherchat headrestuk.co.uk/blog/dear-secr…

More Saturday morning reading for you; a brilliant blog from my friends at Headrest on why Dame Christine Gilbert's review must not be ignored. headrestuk.co.uk/blog/dear-secr…

Edmund Barnett-Ward One of the most chilling things is that Headrest wrote to Ofsted in 2021 warning that there could be serious impact on headteachers' mental health and possibly a fatality. Regrettably, they didn't listen then - they really do need to listen now.

A wonderful, insightful and accurate blog - thank you so much Headrest. I so hope Ofsted take heed of your experience, knowledge and advice. You speak for so many of us who have suffered from horrific injustices and behaviour from Ofsted inspectors recently.

inews.co.uk/news/toxic-ofs… This article from the i is well worth a read. At Headrest we are disappointed that Ofsted has not accepted all of the Dame Christine Gilbert Review recommendations.
