Rehabbing RHP Bryan Mata faced three batters in Worcester: K, BB, K. He threw 17 pitches total, 9 strikes. FB 95-96, CT 89-90, CH 88-89. Control was a little iffy, but solid first outing back.

Final line for Worcester RHP Quinn Priester: 4 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K. 79p/50s. FB 92-96, CH 88-91, SL 84-89, CB 79-82. Both SL (7 whiffs) & CH (6 whiffs) showed bat missing potential. Lot of weak contact. CH much more effective than last time I saw him, especially against LHH.

Something to monitor going forward with Kristian Campbell. This swing happened in the bottom of the third. He went out and played the field in the top of the fourth, but didn’t comeback out for the top of the fifth.

1-2-3 8th for Worcester LHP Zach Penrod with a K on a CH (video below). FB 97-99, SL 88-91 & CH 89. Control was a little erratic (started 2-0 vs. two hitters), but locked back in each time. FB can be overpowering when he commands it & shows bat missing ability w/both secondaries.

Chad Tracy said just a little tweak or muscle spasm in his shoulder blade for Kristian Campbell. Doesn’t think it’s a big deal, but Campbell may get a day off tomorrow.

Here’s a look at new Red Sox LHP Zach Penrod from his last outing. Big-time stuff, but needs to throw more consistent strikes. When locked in though, he’s got the ability to miss bats in the zone with multiple pitches. Full scouting report: soxprospects.com/players/penrod…

Updated after today's moves. I'll do a deep dive in the coming week to calculate an exact number for some guys based on service time as the roster settles, but here are updated projections: 2024: $226.86MM (~$10MM in room under CBT threshold) soxprospects.com/payroll.htm Updated

They call him the gatekeeper of the WooSox, the godfather of broadcasting and the guru of public relations. And somehow, he's much more than that. “Bill is just the best.” Forty years and counting for the secret weapon of the Red Sox' Triple-A club: telegram.com/story/sports/m…

Red Sox 2020 1st round pick Nick Yorke gets the call to the big leagues with Pittsburgh. He’s continued to hit really well since he was traded. In 175 PA for Indianapolis (AAA) .355/.431/.507 with 19 XBH, 18 BB and 33 K.
