There's no excuse for workplace discrimination, whether by an employer or their app. Human oversight and accountability are fundamental rights.

We've written to Uber's UK General Manager Andrew Brem asking what measures are being taken to protect drivers that are being targeted by far right rioters. Uber must suspend services in unsafe areas and compensate drivers for damaged vehicles and time taken off work.

The “support” being sent out to the predominantly migrant workers in the gig economy has been woeful! This once again emphasises how employers truly see their workforce as disposable. Here is an example from Just Eat UK advising workers to try work around the violence..

Can someone please explain how gig economy workers delivering fast food can "schedule deliveries during times when disturbances are less likely to occur"?

From the same company famous for protecting riders with incredible advice like "be on the lookout for possible flying objects"
