Good morning! It's Friday the 13th but there is nothing scary about the weather of late with the exception of how dry it has been. Back into the mid 80's this afternoon under a mostly sunny sky.

Will it ever rain? Let's keep an eye on an area of low pressure off the coast of the Carolinas. Depending on it's track it could bring us the threat for rain by the middle of next week. There is a good chance it stays east of us and we remain dry through at least next weekend.

Low pressure off the coast of the Carolinas this morning will lift northward through the middle of the week. While this will actually give us the threat of showers any rainfall will remain on the light side. Locally rainfall of a quarter of an inch or less is anticipated.

Good morning! Today will likely be our 10th consecutive dry day under a mostly cloudy sky. A passing light rain shower is possible tomorrow but any rain remains very light.

September 17 marks the 20 year anniversary of severe flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan. I can't believe it's been 20 years as I remember so many details of that day. So many roads were flooded that Friday afternoon. The Ohio River flooded the next day.

Full moon in our sky tonight but cloud cover can hamper viewing. The full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox is known as the Harvest moon.

The forecast for rainfall looks bleak for us tomorrow as any rain that falls will be light.

The Moon will graze the Earth's shadow on Tuesday evening creating a partial lunar eclipse. Cloud cover can hamper viewing tonight. No special eyewear is required. Keep in mind that only about 8% of the full harvest moon will be obscured by the Earth's shadow at 10:44 pm.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Ivan which brought a widespread 3-8 inches of rainfall and significant flooding to much of the region. The 5.95" of rain at Pittsburgh on 9/17/2004 remains the greatest 24 hour total on record for the region.
