It’s been a huge privilege to have established and led VoiceAbility . I’ll be stepping down in Sept to figure out a new part to play in enabling people to have better lives. A huge thank you to my fabulous colleagues and friends internally and externally.

“Being in hospital made my mental health worse. I've been out now 30 years, and it's a lot better. I can get on with my life, have a family, have a dog, be at work; it's great.”

I’m hugely impressed by the research by Making Positive Moves. Here I discuss with the brilliant Louisa Rhodes and Helen Ellis-Caird how their project’s model can help advocates in our work to support people’s rights and voices.

🎉This is a huge win for our client who won't be sent to Rwanda - his claim will be processed in the UK. But what about the other 50,000 still in limbo and why does the Home Sec. appear to have left open possibility that flights could still take place? independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/…

I know influential parts of the social care sector don’t want to accept or confront this fact, but we’re not prepared for another pandemic if we continue with large scale congregate care settings as the norm.

This is a welcome decision, as asylum seekers that have been stuck in limbo for two years will now have the chance to have their claims processed and get on with their lives. Next we hope the Government dismantles the legislative architecture that enabled this cruel policy.
