GWAS analysis of 2.5m people (120k with gout) showing identifies 1486 candidate causal genes for gout. Looking at urate handling as well as disease propagation (eg. IL1/6). Widespread GWAS allowing us to investigate these diseases differently. Dr. John Cush #ACR22 #Plenary
Immunosuppressants (eg. MTX, RTX, MMF) can reduce immunogenicity to vaccines. VACIMRA study showing no difference in disease activity (beyond 1 month) and damage when MTX initiation was delayed by 1 month for the PCV13 pneumococcal vaccine. Dr. John Cush ABST1960 #ACR22
Foot involvement in RA not included in disease activity scores. This abstract showed that patients w/ active foot involvement have higher scores anyway (driven by physician & patient global) but examining feet would have only changed management in 3.1%. Dr. John Cush ABST0265 #ACR22
