In M3, we have had a busy first few days at school. We have been starting our guided reading text, drawing the characters and finding out all about our new maths learning. What a fantastic start to life at Bushey Manor!

This week in maths M3 have been counting in hundreds, tens and ones. We have been finding different ways to make numbers using the dienes and part-whole models.

M3 have continued to look at the story 'The day the crayons quit'. This week we thought about how the crayons were feeling, using our inference skills to then take part in some hot seating!

M3 have started the 'innovate' stage of writing by finding the definitions of the vocabulary we have been looking at. We used dictionaries to check our definitions and drew emojis to show each one.

In English this week, we have been using a dictionary and a thesaurus to make more effective word choices in our writing. How many synonyms can you think of for 'happy'?

Our maths learning has continued to focus on place value and thinking about how many hundreds, tens and ones are in a number. We have enjoyed using dienes to find as many different ways to show our thinking!
