Salvaged this young bamboo bat for the museum’s collection yesterday thanks to zoo vet Charlene Yeong. Geeked out at the flattened head and disc-like pads on their wrist and feet to squeeze into tiny slits on bamboo and hold on to the hollow insides. Neat!

Finally making progress to losing last winter’s extra weight. Came back at 16.6% body fat in January, but field work and exercise didn’t do anything for months. The magic solution seems to be a week-long field course with food ad libitum for three meals a day—down to 15% now!

Took my father as my plus one to the opening of the Bidadari Park. The park, inspired by Hundred Acre Wood, sits on sections of the former Bidadari Cemetery. Wildlife in that cemetery was a big part of my childhood, so it was good to see elements of it were retained.

Just gave a talk on leopard cats in Singapore at NUS Libraries that was a lot of fun. I added a Poll Everywhere quiz at the end and was impressed that the diverse crowd could: 1. Recall where leopard cats are found 2. Identify their 💩 (yes I showed 💩 pics) 3. ID individuals!
