TWO important facts about Renal Cell Carcinoma metastases to Thyroid on FNA: 1. Typically, very bloody with rare malignant cells, no colloid or native follicular epithelium. 2. Usually happens after a long latent period. I’ve personally seen it 28yr post-nephrectomy.
