Disappointed to read an article saying that understaffing is a 'stock answer' to maternity safety concerns. Staffing isn't a panacea but I receive daily msgs from midwives w/ panic, anxiety and PTSD due to excessive, relentless workloads. We need help so we can help others.

@RcmSuz Exactly this. Shouting about understaffing isn’t wilful ignorance of other issues…it’s a persistent effort to raise awareness of the thing that threatens to destroy our profession.

Proper staffing gives time to have a break- to eat & drink! Midwives run on empty or worse on adrenaline & sugar. That’s when mistakes are made. Staffing means they can go to the toilet, have a wee, change their sanitary towel/ tampon. How ridiculous to think it doesn’t count.
