We read one of my favorite Math books, A Remainder of One. Students explored parts of division by breaking up dividends into equal groups and finding the remainder!

Tacky Tourist Tuesday! #RedRibbonWeek

Today we used base ten blocks to divide numbers into equal groups. Students were able to identify the relationship between division and multiplication!

Fun Thursday is in full swing! We love playing with STEM bins at the end of each week. 💡

Our architects and construction crews have been working so hard to plan out their Gingerbread houses! They have worked diligently to stay within budget and create the perfect Gingerbread house for Mr. and Mrs. Gingerbread! 🏡 🎄 🎅🏼 #STEM

Students enjoyed their very own Fraction Pizzeria! We created pizzas and generated equivalent fractions using multiplication! 🍕 A big thanks to our local Domino’s for donating our pizza boxes! EastElementary

Today, in Math, we used counting cubes to help us understand and visualize subtracting mixed numbers! A big shout out to @saeed_shane and her amazing math videos! I love implementing these strategies in my classroom! EastElementary

GEOMETRY 📐 We have been so busy making geometry lap books, singing angle songs, and measuring with protractors in Math.

We have learned how to classify triangles by their sides and angles, so it was time to make “triangle people.” Students were given a specific triangle to create and they turned out so good!

We have been busy planning & designing our Summer water parks! Students used area and perimeter to measure out each section of their park! So proud of their creativeness and teamwork! #MATH #STEM EastElementary

Last week we practiced all things “Place Value” including writing our own checks! We learned how to write those big scary numbers in words! 💵

We used our special treats (Graham crackers, marshmallows, and pretzels) to understand the meaning of subtraction using standard algorithm. It was definitely a “tasty lesson.”
