Cool tech! New programming of old MRI tech allows visualization of brain neuroinflammation by recognizing the shape of brain glial cells. I'm curious what strides forward may come from visualizing the inflammation in loads of diseases (including Sjogrens.)

In the event its not obvious, a Systemic disease like Sjogrens demands systemic criteria. Farting around with just the salivary & tear glands & a nonspecific antibody/SSA as criteria is harmful to the large % of Sjogrens patients the research classification criteria exclude.

Neuro Sjogrens I have Sjögren’s, CNS Vasculitis, and MG. I was “hot potatoed” between neuro and Rheum for decades before getting my correct diagnoses. We NEED collaboration between neuro and rheumatology!

A remarkably high %age of severe covid cases had co-infection (at least 70%-see tweet.) But lets not lose sight of the fact that even mild covid infections are all too frequently assoc w strep throat, shingles, EBV reactivation et al. Covid isn't a cold. Colds dont do this.

Sadly, clinicians have been bamboozled about Sjogrens (by med school ed & by @ACR) & now they are now bamboozling patients about the Sjogrens disease attacking their own body. Per Carl Sagan quote below, its a hard path to find one's way out of (Sjogrens) bamboozlement.
