Strong evidence showing that getting a PhD is extremely bad for your mental health. A new paper uses Swedish medical records and matches them to the full population of PhD students for which the authors could get gender and birth year data from 2006 to 2017. After some exclusion

1st ever Quantum and Linear-Optical Computation group @INL PhD graduate! Today Filipa Peres passed her PhD examination at the University of Porto with flying colours. A big chunk of our group was there to cheer on her success! The thesis was titled "Optimizing models of hybrid quantum/classical computation".

It was my greatest honor to be at the Thesis Defense of Dra. Filipa Cavaco Reis Peres, the queen of optimizing models of hybrid quantum-classical computing. Congrats Filipa!
