My sympathies to the family of Bill Pascrell. I appreciate our personal friendship as Bill and my oldest son’s late father-in-law Dennis Miskewicz were bag boys at an A&P grocery store in North Jersey while teenagers.

On this day in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed legislation creating the National Park Service. We thank all of those who maintain and protect the natural beautiful and historic sites of our great nation. South Carolina is proud to be the home of Congaree National Park.

Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) was taken ill and is being evaluated at a local hospital in Washington, DC.

Update: While Congressman Wilson continues to be evaluated by medical staff, he is in good spirits, improving, and speaking with family.

Congressman Joe Wilson has received a pacemaker and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital in a matter of days. He is recovering quickly.
