What the police did on the NYC subway is appalling but I find it interesting that the Venn diagram of people who think fare evasion shouldn’t be punished and people who think driving in a bus/bike lane should warrant jail time is a circle.

The main reason behind “criminals released so easily” and “so many court cases tossed” is because Conservative provincial governments that control the courts refuse to hire enough judges and prosecutors to try cases in a timely manner.

It’s a real race between Alberta and Ontario for most incompetent provincial government.
