Over 2,500 new trees have recently been planted in the Walnut Tree Plantation at Warnham Local Nature Reserve. The trees have been planted with biodegradable tree-guards in a first for the Reserve. 🌳🌳 Thank you so much to all the volunteers who have helped with this mammoth undertaking! 👏

This great video of a #WoodMouse was recently taken at the Reserve during a regular humane live catch and release survey using Longworth traps. This surveying technique allows the Wardens to get a better understanding of the small mammals on the Reserve. 🐭 #NationalMammalWeek

The Wardens were thrilled to see scores of Four-spotted Chasers (Libellula quadrimaculata) emerging from the Discovery Hub reedbed last week. The eggs would have been laid shortly after the reedbed was built, and the nymphs have spent the last two years in the water!

Ranger Clive Lunney checked our herd of goats at Butcherlands reserve. As part of our conservation grazing programme, they have been browsing on bramble, thistle and Hawthorn. This will open up some grassland areas and help create a dynamic scrub habitat perfect for Nightingales
