Tonight's the big night at Kensico Dam Plaza -- music, festivities, fireworks and fun. Beginning in the late afternoon, the Bronx River Parkway north of Virginia Rd will be closed as will the lower Taconic parkway in Mt. Pleasant. If you commute this way, seek another route.

Several traffic lights on the Saw Mill River Parkway between Executive Blvd (Yonkers) and Lawrence St. (Dobbs Ferry) are currently malfunctioning. Officers are assisting with traffic control. DOT personnel are making repairs. Please proceed with caution on the lower Saw Mill.

A man accused in 2019 of scamming members of the Hispanic community through an immigration fraud scheme was returned to Westchester from Washington State last night by WCPD Warrant squad detectives. Juan Cedillo, 69, will appear in County Court later today.

This storm is truly a Debby downer. The remnants of tropical storm Debby have already brought down a number trees and large branches on to the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers, Dobbs Ferry and Bedford. Please drive with caution this afternoon and evening in Westchester.

WCPD impounded 16 mopeds/scooters and wrote 54 summonses this week to address the illegal operation of motorized or battery-powered vehicles, including on County bike paths and trail ways. Powered vehicles are prohibited from driving on these paved pathways and sidewalks.
