Yikes. Northeastern U. chose to call the state police to arrest more than 100 protesters based on a claim that video evidence shows was not only false but exactly the opposite of what happened…

Ironically, my talk at UC Irvine on militarized policing and empire is cancelled because of the police actions on campus there. socsci.uci.edu/newsevents/eve…

Has anyone tried getting a J-1 visa appointment at the U.S. consulate in Canada? I've been checking, but it keeps saying 'no appointment at this time.' Should I wait for the consular section to open slots or just book a ticket back to India to find an appointment there?

It was very nice to spend a week in London and present my paper on the short and medium-run effects of the UPPs on schooling, labor market and incarceration outcomes. I also met incredible scholars! It outweighted my fear of flying by a lot heheh

Very interesting research on abortion cases in Colombia. Based on my quick skim, the short section highlighted here by Aria could be a strong standalone paper on judge sex effects in abortion cases.
