You mean the government would no longer subsidize projects with one hand while blocking their development with the other? What a concept. city-journal.org/article/cost-d…

The only unspent funds Trump has explicitly committed to rescinding are for IRS tax enforcement, which would…increase the deficit by allowing rich tax cheats to get away with it

the reason adding housing supply reduces prices while adding labor supply does not reduce wages is because a house does not buy things. every worker is also a consumer, every boost in labor supply is also a boost in labor demand

Tariffs will make diapers and baby clothes and stuff more expensive, but I don't think that's going to help with child care costs. x.com/byHeatherLong/…

"Any way you cut it, expanding transmission and producing more energy here in the U.S. is a win," said Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.), a member of the Energy Committee. "It means we can keep the lights on, reduce energy costs, and lower emissions all at the same time." 🇺🇸

Major news for NEPA reform! 🚨🚨 Chair Westerman’s discussion draft is out! This is important because the Manchin-Barrasso permitting bill did not address NEPA and this draft may become the basis for House-led bipartisan NEPA reform. 🧵 on what’s in the bill: (1/18)

Two promising solutions: -Include “imminent” alongside “proximate and substantial” — this would raise the level of harm that plaintiffs need to demonstrate.. -Require plaintiffs to prove that the error they have identified would have *changed the agency’s decision*. (14/18)

The California statewide ARCHES program is a $12.6 billion taxpayer-funded US DOE subsidy for “hydrogen hubs” that is fueling misguided transit spending on hydrogen buses and trains. Even transit agencies themselves recognize hydrogen is an unreliable fuel source.

It's not just their state EITC. Working fulltime at the state minimum wage means they earn too much to claim the state's young child tax credit as well. It's one of the reasons why California has some of the highest barriers to moving from welfare to work.

PSST - If you add this extension to your browser, every time you look up a book on Amazon it will tell you whether the book is available at your local library. It just saved me another $20, so I figured I owed it a share. libraryextension.com

Libs propose child care subsidies and then a certain kind of family-values conservative objects that this is unfair to family caregivers and people kind of squawk at each other as if there is an impasse but you really can give benefits to child care users and home caregivers.

Armand Domalewski (@armanddoma) 's Twitter Profile Photo

the reason conservatives never break this impasse is because it would cost a lot of money and require raising their taxes, which they care about far more than family-values
