The universe is ready for its close-up! 📽️ Roman's large surveys will allow scientists to stitch together stop-motion-like animations of some of the universe's greatest hits. Learn more about how Roman will be able to capture new cosmic phenomena: go.nasa.gov/3GVRSM2

Over 2000 years ago, Zhuangzi dreamed that he was a butterfly. When he woke up, he wondered if he was the butterfly dreaming of being a human. Here is a prose poem inspired by that timeless metaphor from my 2021 poetry book from White Pine Press.

The Universe is almost empty, and life is short, yet beautiful beyond compare. May there be peace on Earth, and kindness within each heart. #HappyHolidays2023

We hit and passed a discovery milestone this year by notching our 5,500th confirmed exoplanet. We'll end the year with 5,566 known worlds. Never doubt that you are living in an age of discovery.✨ go.nasa.gov/3O6I1af

Roman's "eyes" have passed their vision test! The Imaging Optics Assembly, IOA, consists of 10 mirrors that must be aligned perfectly to direct light to the science instruments to obtain the most precise images. Next steps: environmental testing! go.nasa.gov/3JmgoqF

When you think of black holes, you probably think of massive cosmic garbage disposals that devour everything they encounter. But astronomers could use Roman to find an unexplored category of lightweight black holes. Learn how: go.nasa.gov/4aqjFR7 #BlackHoleWeek

Got 300 years to spare? Neither do we! Scientists teamed up with U.S. Department of Energy to use supercomputers to cut a 300-year laptop project down to a 9-day supercomputer feat. The result: a new (simulated) universe. Read more:go.nasa.gov/3Xgdgow

A few days ago my pal Adrian Bradley sent this inspiring image of the Milky Way with foreground trees forebodingly reaching to the sky. It was shot by Caroline Jones. Enjoy!

It took 1,000 people and a million individual components to build Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope's state-of-the-art near-infrared camera. With it, humanity will reveal billions of cosmic objects across vast stretches of time and space. We can't wait for the discoveries Roman will find!
