On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, we honor Dr. King and his contributions to our nation. “Our goal is to create a beloved community, and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On this day in 1988, President Reagan signed the ANCSA amendments into law. The hard-fought amendments went into effect in 1991 and ensured Alaska Native Corporations are solely owned by Alaska Native people.

Today, we celebrate the life of Elizabeth Wanamaker Peratrovich of the Tlingit Nation: a civil rights activist who helped pass Alaska’s Anti-Discrimination Act of 1945. May her legacy encourage us all to continue advancing civil rights. Happy Elizabeth Peratrovich Day!

On June 19, 1865, enslaved Americans in Texas finally received word that the Emancipation Proclamation was signed and they were free. Each year, Juneteenth is a day for celebration and reflection as we commemorate the end of slavery and strive for future progress.

June 22nd marks ASRC’s 52nd Incorporation Anniversary! Today, we have grown from nearly 3,800 original shareholders to over 14,000 shareholders. By remaining committed to our Iñupiaq values, ASRC can continue achieving new heights.
