GOD created the heavens, spread out the earth & its produce, gives breath & spirit to people who walk on it. I, YAHWEH, call you for justice, grasp you by the hand, form you, set you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations. I am YAHWEH. That's my name. Is. 42

GOD'S GIFT At God’s word were his works brought into being; they do his will as he has ordained for them. As the rising sun is clear to all, so the glory of the Lord fills all his works. Yet even God’s holy ones must fail in recounting the wonders of the Lord. SIRACH 42

OUR RACISM Laity and clergy need to examine our hearts with regards to what I believe about the equal human dignity of each and every person, then deal with it and talk with others about racism. What's in our heart? Bishop Fabre of USCCB

HOW ABOUT THIS EACH DAY? O God, at your prompting may I discern what is right, and by your guidance do it. THEN WE HAVE TO LISTEN.

TREATING OTHERS Treat the alien who resides with you no differently than the natives born among you. Love the alien as yourself. We are all aliens to others in this land, migrants on this planet.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE -- AN EASY MANTRA TO LIVE BY. Eating less, buying less, driving less, burning less -- it all adds up. Reusing things you just used requires creativity and saves $$$$$. Recycling is better than trashing. CARE FOR CREATION.

TAX JUSTICE Harper's Index reports a fall from 22% of 1969 federal tax revenue to 8% in 2019; 50 Fortune 500 companies paid no federal taxes in 2020. 21 percent of the top 1% of U.S. earners do not disclose to the IRS. The result: $175 million lost revenue each year. NOT FAIR!

I believe the true and essential work of all religion is to help us recognize the divine image in everyone and every thing. It is to mirror things correctly, deeply, and fully until all things know who they are. #DailyMeditations Center for Action and Contemplation ow.ly/uBzE30rRvZs

Light dawns for the just; and gladness, for the upright of heart. Be glad in the Lord, you just, and give thanks to his holy name. Psam 97

As I understand whatever can be understood..., love to me is what most call God, but this 'love' is a vibrant interactive personal presence, not just a sense of attraction as it is colloquially experienced. Brendan MacCarthaigh Read more at: ow.ly/K7fK50G00yu

On this Jewish day of prayer, Rosh Hashanah, celebrating the birth of the Universe, we are reminded that we humans are entrusted with God's creation and called to care for our common home. On Day 7 of this year's Season of Creation, pray to be a good steward.
