I once took a cab in Los Angeles from the airport to a hotel. Paid the fare and a 10% tip as per norm. Driver wouldn't unlock the door and let me out because he wanted 20%. Since then, I always invest in a local SIM and take Uber when I travel abroad. I do tip 10-15% in US
