One injury note from Dell McGee: Ja'Cyais Credle was limited from an injury sustained in the Georgia Tech game - said "I don't know if he played 10 snaps this game." (He was right, PFF credits him with just 1) But he hopes to have him 100% next week vs Vanderbilt.

This was interesting, if vague, from McGee: "I think we need to play more players in certain situations too. So those are things that I'm looking at as a coach and I'm gonna challenge our staff on that." I've an idea or two, but interested to see which part of the team he means.

McGee said of the slow start: "We gotta have a little bit more juice in our step. I think our kids were a little bit flat initially. Sometimes you look at the name of the opponent and you just don't have that same drive and energy." Put it on him and his staff to correct that.

QB Christian Veilleux echoed that: "I think it was just the attitude that we had to pick up. I think we came out a little flat." Said the urgency of going behind each time made them go, "Hey, we need to go out here and we need to score, because we're making this game too close."

Per Veilleux, the short passes were very much part of the gameplan: "We knew they were a big zone drop team with a lot of zone eyes, so we knew that the underneath coverage...they were gonna get a lot of depth, so we were gonna hit short routes and try to get a lot of YAC."

Veilleux likes the helmet comms - gives him a "second pair of eyes" he can talk to in real time. Mentioned OC Jim Chaney reminds him of his keys - "If you see this, check to this." But he also said, "It's still football at the end of the day. You still gotta go out and execute."

And lastly Freddie Brock gave a reflective, eye-opening quote on it's easy for him to handle being a part of a RB rotation as opposed to being the feature back in this transfer world of college football:
