The day SDR 1998 well and truly died. Massacre included halving in one go the Army SHORAD, the whole Jaguar force of the RAF, 3 SSNs, 7 tank squadrons, 1 AS9O regiment etc. and it would get worse since FRES went nowhere so the 3 modern mechanised brigades promised never happened.
