“One of the tough things for magazines is how do you continue to grow and adapt and make sure that you’re reaching new readers and new audiences,” Bloomekatz said. “It’s a hard thing to keep pushing for 40 years.”

After almost 40 years, Tikkun Magazine is officially shutting down. These are some of the issues I produced there when I was managing editor in 2016. Was really honored to work with some incredible folks and so many brilliant writers and artists. Sad to see it close.

I simply believe that no one going about their business should have to deal with five belligerent people jumping out and pointing weapons at them while screaming at them to get out of their car.

Note on this: US Palestinian Community Network now asking folks to gather at Pearson & Michigan at 3 p.m. because it will be a better place to demand Biden stop funding, fueling, and enabling the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. This is at least the 32nd mass mobilization that USPCN is leading.

I wrote this piece 3 months into this genocide. Today marks 6.

Thousands more babies have been killed since. Thousands of parents failed. Two million people starved. Two million traumatized. Two million displaced.

Horror is too tepid a word.
