We are deeply saddened by the passing of our comrade and collaborator, Jane McAlevey. Her powerful legacy as a labour organizer and strategist leaves us with a lifetime of lessons to draw on in the class struggles to come. rosalux.de/en/news/id/518…

I'm not the sports fan in my house, and it's a small thing in the context of the world, but why do people like FS1 get the monopoly on the #EURO2024 , make people watch it on delay, show it late, and spoil the score for everyone that tuned live in like they made them do! GRRR!

Two things I see (and sometimes, sadly act out) on this platform are despair and complacency. Jane McAlevey was nearly entirely immune to both of those ills, and could be a source of fire and inspiration for all!

I had to look through clown's timeline to find out he wasn't joking, and I feel a little violated. Love this country in so many ways, but definitely need the coming break from it.

I wish I could say something cleverer about it, but I find it terribly interesting that the Republican nominee has been endorsed by nearly everyone who opposed him in primaries, and by very nearly no one who worked for him.

Tim Walz and Kamala Harris were born in the same year! But Kamala Harris looks as old as I think I look and Tim Walz looks as old as I ACTUALLY look.

VE has a government 4 times smaller than Bildt's native SE as a percentage of GDP, so SE is more socialist; the cause of the disaster is Trump-style economic populism -- direct intervention in the economy by the executive -- wearing stars and chanting leftist slogans.

Don't know what timezone the Musk Trump interview is happening in, so I'm signing out now just so there's no chance that I count as being online when it happens.

One of very few strong opinions of mine, via economist Sen: Catastrophic famines have happened in socialist countries, in capitalist countries, both self-ruled and colonies -- there has NEVER been a famine in a Democracy with a free press. Your economic policy << Democracy.

I want to think this argument is too stupid to respond to, but I've encountered people who believe it. RU invaded Ukrainian territory REPEATEDLY during both the Trump and Obama administrations, and saw time was running out once Trump left and Ukraine had _some_ support.

What's competency? What's competency restoration? What's AOT? Leah Romero and I get back to basics as we cover this week's hearings on a draft bill meant to get more people mental health treatment without incarcerating them: sourcenm.com/2024/08/15/pas…

I wish my mama were alive to see this ( Though I am a little relieved she isn't able to see the comments). State Engineer is a vital technocratic civil service office that needs -- and has mostly had -- smart and steady people. And Anderson seems to be another! Congrats!

It's obvious why we have more road deaths than most countries -- we drive more, and we drive faster, than most countries; and 2020-now have plausible explanations. What about 2015-2020 though? I'm genuinely stumped.

People to believe when they talk down NM: ❌ people who can't spell Las Cruces. Albuquerque IS more dangerous than it should be. It has the 36th highest homicide rate in the country, and we want it lower. Just over half the cities with higher rates are in deep red states. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

It seems to me that this "by a whisker" thing Trump said in the Fridman interview is seriously underrated. Establishing that Trump knew he lost the last election, that makes all of his efforts to overturn the results unambiguously a crime, doesn't it?
