Today, Class 2 focussed on communication skills, and working as a team, to help them make bug hotels. What amazing creations they designed!

That’s a wrap! Thank you to all the parents, staff and especially children who made this morning’s Academy Celebration such a magical event. We had (among other things) a Viking song, musical performances and a fantastic Academy PowerPoint. The programme will return in 2025.

Thank you to Rev Jenny who came to school today to talk to Year 6 before they transition to High School. She gave them each a prayer bracelet and the children shared their favourite school memories.

We held two wonderful events in school today. First, our Year 6 children received their Bibles from the Sunday School Foundation Trust. Then, parents joined Class 4 for a P4C session.

As part of their bee project, Reception welcomed local bee keeper Paul into school. Paul brought in thousands of bees in a glass fronted hive so the children could watch them working away inside. It was fascinating observing them care for the queen.

Class 2 had a wonderful morning at White Nancy. The children used compasses to understand direction, and enjoyed idenfying deciduous and evergreen trees. Mr Rogers taught pupils a very interesting technique of finding north without using a compass.

What a fantastic Year 6 Leavers’ Play we witnessed this morning. The children in Class 4 performed Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat wonderfully. We are going to miss this fabulous cohort so much.

In DT this week, Class 3 started to design pavilions by exploring different frame structures using cocktail sticks, plasticine and some sweets! The children worked really hard as designers to create a stable structure using different basic geometric shapes.
