As part of P4/5’s class topic ‘Fairtrade’ we are taking part in The Great Rice Challenge. We have purchased 45kg of Kilombero rice to sell. Once we sell all of our rice the income will pay for a child from Malawi to attend school for 6 months! True Origin Food Kilombero Malawian Aromatic Rice 🌾

P4/5 we’re very fortunate to have Miss Leys visit our class to teach us more about life in Malawi. Miss Leys lived in Malawi and brought along some jewellery, clothing and pictures to help us understand the challenges that some people face.

P1-3 and G1-3 invited friends from Port Ellen Primary School to explore Bowmore. We built new stone cities on the shore, used maps to navigate around our village and noted our scavenger hunt answers in our explorer journals. We enjoyed ice cream Peatzeria Islay to end the day. Thank you!

Bowmore ELC enjoyed a visit from Fiona at the Islay Nature Centre today. The boys and girls explored lots of interesting creatures, shells and learned wonderful facts about sea life. Next Monday we are going beach combing to see what we can find! 🦀🦞🪸🐚🌞

Bowmore ELC and Sgoil-Àraich have been very busy taking care of their raised bed in the nursery garden! Working together removing weeds, adding fresh soil and planting beautiful flowers, we’ve even added some painted stones and labelled our flowers. 🪴🌺 🌞

Today author MaisieChanWrites is on threads visited us as part of Islay Book Festival. She read some of her book 'Tiger Warrior'. We learnt about the Chinese Zodiac and the animals that feature in it. We created pictures of our own Chinese dragons! We really enjoyed our visit today! 🐉📚✏️
