Technically, the two hardest problems in computer science are (i) people, (ii) convincing computer scientists that people are the hardest problem, and (iii) off by one errors... but this seems like a corollary of (i) (and maybe (ii)?), so I’ll allow it.

I was able to talk with multiple students 1 on 1 today (w/ masks), get to know them, and help them with problems. Giving extensions to HW assignments. The relief on their faces and the release of tension was worth every second of additional work I might have to do.
