Thread🧵 1/4 We collaborated with the Green North-Eastern Initiative in a visit to Kihumbuini in Gatanga, Murang'a County, to learn about climate-smart agriculture among smallholder farmers.

I was previledged to be part of youth who went for clean up at Nairobi River. It is quite unfortunate to have a river that that once supported life turn up polluted and toxic to even support life.#Watersecurity is key and the latter is basic need to #humanity and #biodiversity

Our first stop was at Mburu's farm, where he practices regenerative agriculture. We learnt that plants often seen as weeds like Black Jack, Wandering Jew and Oxalis are nutritious foods and natural pesticides with medicinal value. Watch the video here: youtu.be/B20nhmUR_-8?si…

At Muranga County with Green NorthEastern Initiative (GNEI) & MuemAction Post we engaged with farmers who have adapted to climate change through climate smart agriculture and regenerative agriculture. They utilized Indigenous knowledge in running their farms and even utilizing some plants & weeds as medicine

Today at the 4th Africa Adaptation Acceleration Programme forum hosted by Global Center on Adaptation, we discussed climate adaptation. With 3.6 billion people in affected areas, it's crucial to remember and understand impacts of #climatechange and boost resources for adaptation.
