Jays gonna open Big East play in the nation’s capital. Home opener is three days later vs. Villanova. Again, it’s at UConn before the Huskies come to the CHI. Marquette and UConn in Omaha in the same week is gonna be damn good hoop.

Thankful we get a Creighton-UConn matchup on a Saturday. Both meetings last season were in the middle of the week. The Jays go to either Storrs or Hartford on Saturday, Jan. 18. Huskies make the return trip to Omaha on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

BREAKING: Creighton has landed 2025 four-star wing Hudson Greer, he announced, giving Greg McDermott and the Bluejays their first commitment in the class. Greer — 6-foot-6, 185 pounds — picks CU over Kansas and Alabama. He’ll play his senior year at Montverde Academy.

Creighton has now trailed two top-five teams 0-2 before rallying to force a fifth set. Did it at Nebraska on Tuesday and against Louisville right now on ESPN. Whew.

Louisville wins the fifth, 15-8. Jays are hanging with title contenders. Gotta finish and avoid those early holes. Couple more marquee matchups next week in Lawrence.
