COALA, the code name for the COpernicus program in Australian agriculture. The European Horizon 2020 program funded a research & innovation project to boost the use of satellite data from the Copernicus programme in Australian agriculture.

A critical issue for Australian agriculture is water availability. In 2019, many parts of Australia were in super drought. Some areas of NSW saw no rain for over 450 days. This Copernicus EU Sentinel 2 image shows the moisture index across South Eastern Australia in October 2019.
