Wondering where this last heat event lands on the record books? Well, the 20 day period from June 23-July 12, 2024 is the hottest one on record for Sacramento (going back to 1878)! Other years had higher single day temps but the whole of this event was something else! #CAwx

Looks like tonight's M5.2 earthquake near Bakersfield was on a northeast-striking reverse fault over 7 miles deep. The "big bend" in the San Andreas Fault to the south creates compressional forces, which drives these reverse faults. #earthquake

How do we know humans are responsible for #climatechange? #IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report shows that the dominant role of humans in driving recent climate change is clear. This is based on a synthesis of information from multiple lines of evidence. ➡️ bit.ly/AR6WGI3

Unfortunately seeing images confirming ongoing structure loss on all three major SoCal fires (#BridgeFire, #LineFire, #AirportFire). Firefighting resources are being severely strained at this point. Going to be a very long night for a lot of folks... #CAwx #CAfire
