I totally agree with this. People who don’t think they have anything to learn from our public librarian colleagues are extremely shortsighted. I think it’s good to get different perspectives on the field.

There are so many costs to the advice of "move for the job" that are never talked about openly. It's not just money, it's emotional and mental supports too. Safety. Community. And barriers to being promoted within your own library so you have to leave.
