Is our role as leaders to be better at managing a broken system or redesign it with communities? The focus on acute pressures & budgets above all else means the system won’t change. 💰 is being continually pumped into the most expensive part of the system while prevention is cut

What makes change happen? Is it new structures & governance or culture & leadership? In my experience it’s the latter. Creating a new structure isn’t an end in itself. It’s the energy, the buzz of working as a team with a bold humility to build support around people & communities

Leaders are often promoted into positions without essential people skills. They may have longevity, strategic thinking, the right connections but they never say “how are you really doing?” “thank you for everything you’ve done” or “I’m sorry I got that wrong” Leadership is this.
