Currently reading: The Moon and the Desert, by Robert E. Hampson. It's about an astronaut who is injured and gets rebuilt with millions of dollars in bionic parts and becomes better than he was before . . . HEY, WAIT A MINUTE.

NASA has not held a media briefing on Starliner's Crew Flight Test in 11 days. This is unreal given that it is a test flight, and there are huge questions about how this mission will end.

The next phase of the Boeing CEO’s plan is to send them cheesy movies, the worst he can find. The astronauts will be forced to sit and watch them all, while he monitors their minds.

Just finished: The Black Company, by Glen Cook. I'll harp on modern cover design once again. What grabs your attention more: Darth Vader/Dr. Doom guy standing over glowing sigil, or silhouettes of guys on horseback?

Saw Excalibur on the big screen last night. You know a movie is a classic when you keep finding new stuff in it each time. It never ceases to amaze me how Nigel Terry convincingly plays Arthur from youth to old man in the span of a single movie.

Just finished: Allan Quatermain, by H. Rider Haggard. This was the novel that set the pattern for the Lost Race subgenre for decades to come. Beautiful but amoral queens, plotting high priests, the works.
