The Wizards led the NBA in pace this year. GM Will Dawkins indicates that is a sign of more to come, that it fits with where the league is heading and also more possessions can help player development because it means more shots.

Monumental Basketball president Michael Winger says the Wizards won roughly 40% of their quarters and halves in the second half of the season. 'It's not a full game,' he made clear, but he believes it was one sign of them being more competitive as the year went on.

Bilal Coulibaly said whether he plays in the Las Vegas Summer League will depend on if he makes the French Olympic team. His goal is to be on Team France and play in the Paris Games, not far from where he grew up.

Corey Kispert says his improvement getting to the rim and finishing there changed 'everything' in his game and how defenses guarded him:

'It's a cool thing as a player to feel like you have a little bit more respect from the defense, it's validation.'

'I can be better off-ball defensively. I've seen the potential, I know it's there... [on offense] handle the ball better, be able to go both ways.'

Tyus Jones on the Wizards finding a good rhythm under interim head coach Brian Keefe late in the year:

'We were competing way more and you could feel it. You could see it from the outside looking in, but you could feel it inside the locker room.'

But he told the young guys to approach this summer with the mindset of: 'Today would be the day we start a new season.'

Kyle Kuzma said he plans to come back next year 'in a different caliber of shape... a different type of conditioning' because he realized how being atop the scouting report every night requires having peak endurance.

Interim coach Brian Keefe pointed to some of the Wizards' biggest upsets as high points of his time as head coach; the win vs. the Bucks, the win at Miami, beating the Bulls undermanned. 'We know there is more work to do, but there was growth there for sure.'
