The #ChicagoPolice Department joins the Dallas Police Dept in mourning the loss of Police Officer Darron Burks who was killed in the line of duty in an ambush shooting while in his patrol vehicle. Officer Burks had served with the Dallas Police Department for eight months.

Services begin this evening for Chicago Police Officer James B. Crowley #4169 who was catastrophically injured in the line of duty by a drunk driver on September 4, 1987. We honor his service and his life as we prepare to lay him to rest.

We also remember and honor Patrolman William M. Morrison, Jr. #9593, who was partnered with Patrolman Crowley when their patrol vehicle was struck by a drunk driver on September 4, 1987. Patrolman Morrison sustained life-ending injuries from the collision and was pronounced that

The #ChicagoPolice Department remembers Patrolman Bernard W. Domagala, Star #8996, End of Watch Sept. 5, 2017. Patrolman Domagala was shot and critically wounded on duty on July 14, 1988 and succumbed to his injuries 29 years later. He is survived by his wife and children.

The #ChicagoPolice Department is proud to have been the host agency for this year's International Association of Women in Policing Conference. More than 800 delegates representing over 60 countries participated in the week-long conference focusing on topics in policing worldwide.

Chicago Police officers demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism as they worked to ensure the safety of every community during the 2024 Democratic National Convention. On the world stage, our officers made our Department and this city proud.

The Chicago Police Department extends our condolences to the Osage Beach,Missouri Police Department for the loss of Police Officer Phylicia Carson in the line of duty. Officer Carson had served with the Department for one year. She is survived by her husband and six children.
